A man continues to fight for his life in hospital after three people were injured when three cars crashed in a busy street.

Police shut off Camden Road both ways, near Camden Road station, after a crash yesterday (July 6) at 6.20pm.

The road was closed between Royal College Street and Camden Street.

Metropolitan Police says that a car crashed into street furniture and two cars.

According to the London Ambulance Service a fourth patient was treated at the scene, but they did not require hospital assistance.

One eyewitness said on Twitter: “Scary stuff as I’d passed the Costa Coffee 30 sec(s) before I heard the loud screech and crash behind me.

“Such a busy area as there were tonnes of people assisting already.”

While a cordon was in place, bus routes including the 29, 253 and 274 were diverted from the area.

There have been no arrests at this time, the Met said.
