A historic red telephone box in Hampstead could be yours as it appears on the market.

Located opposite Waterstones on Hampstead High Street, the listed phone box is up for auction.

Real estate company BidX1 says that the kiosk already has planning permission from Camden Council for retail use and it is located in the “prime part” of the high street.

The 8’3” high and 3 sq ft box was originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, who also designed other London landmarks such as Battersea Power Station.

Historic England have listed telephone boxes across the capital, and many have transformed into coffee shops, libraries, museums, bakeries and defibrillators.

One booth on Rosslyn Hill was transformed into Italian takeaway Pinkadella last year.

Another near Waterlow Park became Coffee and Bean.
