A new play exploring how young transgender people come out to their parents and partners premieres at the Lion and Unicorn next month
A new play exploring how young transgender people come out to their parents and partners premieres at the Lion and Unicorn next month.
Written by Georgie de Suys, To Finally Feel follows the dilemma of male to female Douglas/Donna as she comes to terms with her gender dysphoria.
The 21-year-old said: βIt was inspired by a family friend trying to explain their feelings about their own body and identity to their family and girlfriend.β
The play stars non-binary trans actor Ed Zephyr and is produced by trans actress and writer Simona Continente.
It is also supported by transgender actor Rebecca Root who starred in the groundbreaking BBC sit-com Boy Meets Girl and who hosts a post show Q&A on opening night (October 12) airing the issues around writing and casting trans characters.
To Finally Feel runs October 12-13 at the Lion&Unicorn Theatre, Gaisford Street, Kentish Town.
