THE first auditions are already underway for the talent show which could see one very talented performer being set on the path to international stardom.

By the middle of May one very talented person will have the music world at their feet as their first professionally-produced single is released into the UK market.

Six sets of six singers will be chosen from the Sing For Your Supper auditions and will perform in a series of heats over six Friday evenings, culminating in a final dramatic sing-off between the heat winners.

Among the judges will be record producer Simon Henderson, music management guru Mick Garbutt, and representatives from the Ham&High. Entrants must be aged 16-35 and it doesn't matter whether your style is pop, rock, country or even opera - we're simply looking for a voice in any genre that can set the music world alight.

The heats and the grand final will all take place at Fish Fish Restaurant in Temple Fortune and the www.singforyoursupper.biz website will be up and running this week to guide contestants through the entry formalities.

"I have always been interested in new original talent. In the past I have worked with some huge superstars but nothing beats the thrill of finding someone as yet undiscovered, and then watching 20,000 people jumping up and down in mass agreement with you,'' said Simon Henderson.

"I am really looking forward to working with the Sing For Your Supper winner and I am curious to see what this area of the world has to offer. I know that Hampstead and surrounding areas are often where pop stars end up living, so I think it will be fun to find the stars of tomorrow on the doorstep.

"When I was music producer and judge for Sutasi in 2008, a TV show similar to American Idol for the entire Asia region, I auditioned between 500 and 1,000 singers a day in more than 12 countries and although my ears were tired, we found some incredible artists who are climbing the charts as we speak.

Mick Garbutt said: "Somewhere in this catchment area there is a singer who will be given such a great opportunity and we are going to find that person in the next few months.

"I have been in the music business for so long and yet I never get tired of hearing great vocalists. It is very very exciting. I am thrilled to be working with such a fantastic team on this event and knowing where this can lead to for the winner makes it even more of a buzz.

"It is just as easy with the right contacts to create a global singing star as it is to create a local pub singer, and that is what makes it so special. Simon Henderson is a very exceptional producer and will without doubt record a world class track. I am very much looking forward to seeing what the auditions bring.
