Mayhew’s Tinsel & Tails event was held at the stunning Grand Connaught Rooms in Holborn, where guests and their four-legged friends were treated to an exclusive evening like no other.

The annual charity extravaganza, sponsored by Pets Pyjamas and Barkers For Dogs, saw a host of celebrity supporters take to the red carpet to raise vital funds to help continue Mayhew’s work in the UK and overseas.

This year’s star line-up included host Pandora Christie, Pete Wicks, Stephanie Pratt, Olivia Buckland, Alex Bowen, Beatie Edney, Ali Bastian, Hannah Spearritt, Harry Reid, Marc Abraham, Arielle Free, Wendy Turner Webster, Anneka Svenska, Carla Fraser and Lisa Garner and Plum Pudding.

Nearly 300 people attended the fundraiser in Holborn and we raised nearly £30,000 on the night, as guests enjoyed a three-course dinner, and were later treated to entertainment provided by BBC’s Pitch Battle contestants, The Noteables, an award winning pop chamber choir directed by comedian, Vikki Stone.

Guests and celebrities also enjoyed the opportunity to bid for an array of money can’t buy experiences at the event’s exclusive auction. There was a brilliant selection of prizes including tickets to a film premiere in the West End, 1995 Classic BMW driving experience at Silverstone and VIP tickets to The Play That Goes Wrong.

Mayhew’s CEO, Caroline Yates, said: “It was a fantastic night and we raised an incredible amount. Tinsel & Tails is always a fantastic event, bringing together our dogs, guests, supporters and celebrity friends for one night only.”

Mayhew, which is based in Kensal Green, helps thousands of animals in need gain a better quality of life by delivering a broad range of veterinary care.

The charity has a proud history of carrying out vital work for animals in need, striving to achieve a society where all animals are treated and cared for with respect.

In 2016, Mayhew rehomed 389 cats and 94 dogs, neutered close to 2,000 animals, helped 1,607 animals in the community and reunited 67 lost dogs with their owners, and the charity has enjoyed further success throughout this year, too.

Caroline continued to say: “It is a great event for our supporters and celebrity friends to hear about all that we have achieved and the amazing work we have done this year.

“Most importantly, all the money raised during the evening will go towards Mayhew helping more dogs and cats escape a life of cruelty, neglect and abandonment in the UK and overseas.”
