There was national success for ZFW Fencing Club, who are based at South Hampstead High School, as their top trio won the men’s foil team event at the British Championship.
Three-time Olympian Richard Kruse – who is hoping to be competing at the 2016 Rio Games in the summer – joined forces with Alexander Lloyd and Peter Barwell to win the title at the Leon Paul Fencing Centre in Edgware.
They eliminated three of their ZFW colleagues in the semi-finals – Charlie St John, Louis de Bazelaire and David Standen – as the B team came fourth out of the 16 teams.
