A QUARTET of young Highgate Harriers won every 75m race in their age group at the Highgate Harriers/City of London Open Meeting at Parliament Hill Fields.

Curtis St. Ange clocked 11.8secs to win the first race, Alexander Herd (12.1) won the second and Grace Mee (11.6) the third race.

Olivia Sutton (12.7) ensured a clean sweep when she won race four.

Highgate also recorded a trio of victories in 100m races for older runners with Finbarr Ricketts (11.2), Maxim Pellett (12.1) and Liam Ormes (12.0) all winning their respective races.

In other events Arnold Harrison was second (2:11.4) in the under-11 600m ahead of Alex Bedcott (2:12.5) third.

In the field Grace Mee led her age group in the long jump (3.52m), finishing ahead of Alex Badcott (3.45) second and Curtis St Ange (3.49) third.

Maxim Pellet, a Southern league performer for Highgate, won the long jump senior event (5.94m). Oscar Piotrowicz (8.94m), a new boy at University College School, was sixth in the shot-putt and was also sixth in the senior discus (24.82m).

John Shelley of Shaftesbury Barnet (2:00.0) won the 800m, finishing ahead of second placed William Laing (2:01.0). Stanley Harrison (2:14.1) was second in another 800m race.

Mike Cummings (Herne Hill Harriers) clocked 9:13.9 to win the 3000m with Highgate's Jon Deane second in 9:31.7.

Stephen Whiting (9:40.5) was fifth, Jack Mathewman (9:47.5) sixth and Anna McCutcheon was the first woman home in 10:53.9.

Elsewhere for Harriers, John O'Shea won bronze when he ran a best of 4:50.6 in the 1500m at the Civil Service Championships at Loughborough and won gold in the over-45 long jump (3.78m).

Astrid Wingler was the first veteran home when she finished third overall in the Isle of Wight fell running races. Natasha Cendrowicz also competed.

Damian Shirley (2:57.40) was 881st in Sunday's Berlin Marathon.
