Keith Rowland’s Blues picked up four points over the Bank Holiday weekend
Luke Ifil was left to draw on the positives after Wingate & Finchley had to settle for a point at home to local rivals Enfield Town on Monday.
The Maurice Rebak Stadium club looked on course to claim bragging rights when Marc Charles-Smith fired them in front after 24 minutes.
Aaron Greene levelled it up for Enfield in the 72nd minute though to ensure the derby finished 1-1.
Blues sit 15th in the Bostik Premier after five games with a total of five points to their name after a 3-2 victory at Whitehawk on Saturday.
“This is a positive because we won the game before Enfield and it seems like we are getting better and better,” Ifil told WingateTV.
“I think Monday we played a harder opponent compared to Saturday, so it should be good moving forward.”

Although the defender was content with the way Wingate had performed against their local rivals, Ifil did insist they had chances to win the game.
He added: “We should have taken a few of our chances better and I felt we were all over them to be fair.
“But they had a spell around the 70th minute. We dropped off a bit and literally the energy levels went down and there is nothing you can do about that.
“We should have ended it around the 50th minute and then we would have been alright, but because we didn’t it gave them the chance to get back into it.”
Nevertheless, Wingate can be happy with their points return over the Bank Holiday period after claiming a first win of the term on Saturday.
Whitehawk took the lead in the 28th minute when Jason Williams scored, but the Blues turned things around before half time.
Marc Weatherstone levelled the scores with a penalty in the 37th minute and made it 2-1 on the stroke of half time with a second spot-kick.
Charles-Smith continued his purple patch with a third for Wingate seven minutes from time and although the hosts pulled one back with a minute left, it finished 3-2.
After drawing with Enfield on Monday, the Blues will aim to make it three unbeaten this weekend at Tonbridge Angels.
The hosts have enjoyed a fine start, however, and sit in first place after five games.
