UCS Old Boys failed to build on an early lead to crash to defeat in their London League three match away to Twickenham on Saturday.
Dan Stewart's men twice led during in the first half but were unable to maintain their advantage and slumped to a frustrating defeat.
"We made too many errors and squndered two or three overlaps," said Stewart. "Perhaps we were fortunate not to go two more scores down but we had enough chances to win the game in the second half.
"We must sharpen up against Hampstead in two weeks' time. We feel that we're almost there with our game at the moment but things were just too flat today."

UCS began brightly and were quickly ahead when Casey Mee landed the first of three penalties - he missed the other two.
The Twickenham soon hit back and grabbed the lead in the 15th minute, touching down for an unconverted try for 5-3.
But UCS regrouped and were rewarded five minutes later when Ben Burkill reclaimed the lead with an unconverted try for 8-5.
But the hosts quickly reclaimed the lead after UCS were reduced to 14 men following Sadler's sin-binning for not rolling away.
Twickenham cashed in, scoring a converted try to lead 12-8 at half time.
In the second half, Twickenham added a penalty soon after the break to stretch the lead to 15-8.
The Old Boys remained focused and narrowed the gap with a penalty from stand-in kicker Kieran O'Donnell - Mee was unable to kick because of a hamstring injury. But it was too little, too late for the Old Boys.
UCS have no competitive game on Saturday.
UCS squad: Burkill, Johnson, Dowding, Orr, Dillon, Brandt, Sadler, Skinner, Mee, Bunyard, Hudson, Levermore, O'Donnell, Harding, Stewart, Jayne, Irwin, Jones.
