UCS Old Boys’ three-match winning run came to an end as they twice lost the lead and were held to a 6-6 draw away against London French - but that was enough to take them up into fourth place in Herts/Middlesex Division One.
Fly-half Dan Stewart kicked UCS ahead and Luccas Ruzzon made a try-saving tackle to maintain his side’s advantage at the break.
But the hosts responded with a penalty of their own and, although Stewart slotted the ball between the sticks again, London French levelled the scores for a second time.
Nontheless, the Old Boys leapfrogged Verulamians. They now host league leaders Kilburn Cosmos on Saturday.
