Souka Trouiller scored a hat-trick as Hampstead Ladies bounced back from two successive defeats to win 27-10 away against Chesham Ladies in Women’s Championship South East Division Two.
Trouiller crossed the line three times and Rachel Grovenor and Laura Shrum also went over to secure a victory, and a bonus point, for the visitors on Sunday – and that took second-placed Hampstead within three points of leaders Tonbridge Juddian, whose scheduled fixture was postponed.
Meanwhile, Hampstead’s second team were denied the chance to secure their first win of the season when their match was abandoned due to a serious injury to one of their opponents.
Although Hampstead initially trailed by five points against Harlequins, a fine try from Carol Evans brought them back into the game – but the contest had to be called off. It will be replayed.
