CUMBERLAND'S Anne Keothavong is set to meet reigning champion Venus Williams in the second round of 2008 Wimbledon after beating the United States' Vania King on Tuesday.
Keothavong, the British No.1, overcame the loss of the first set to storm to a decisive 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over King who is currently ranked one place behind her at No.93 on the World list.
The 24-year-old's victory continues her solid start to the grass court season after reaching the finals of the Surbiton Trophy last month and follows hard on the heels of fellow Brit Elena Baltacha's win over Angelique Kerber on Monday.
Williams, a multiple Wimbledon champion, beat Britain's Naomi Cavaday 7-6 (7-5) 6-1) to reach the second round.
