Arsenal striker Jay Simpson has signed a new long-term contract.
The 20-year-old graduate of the Gunners' youth system scored twice in the Carling Cup fourth round 3-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in November and also played against Sheffield United and Burnley in the competition.
The Tottenham-born forward, recently the subject of interest from West Bromwich Albion, made history as the first player to score a competitive hat-trick at Emirates Stadium in the FA Youth Cup tie in February 2007.
