Haringey Aquatics youngster Max Green will represent Middlesex at the National Inter-County Championships in Sheffield on October 6.
The Highgate Wood School pupil from Crouch End will compete in the 100 metres freestyle, 100m breaststroke and medley relay at the annual event, which draws around 1,200 swimmers from 40 counties.
And he said: “I am very excited to represent Middlesex County and have been training hard to give it my all in October.”
Green, a 2017 Welsh national champion, has also been called onto Swim England’s National Talent Pathway programme and head coach Paul Doyle said: “Max is the first swimmer in Haringey Aquatics’ history to be called up for the Talent Pathway programme.
“He has achieved some remarkable results in 2017 and we are very proud of his selection to this highly competitive national programme.”
