South Hampstead High School and The Hall both took three teams to the Caxton FX 2015 indoor British Independent Schools slalom race at the Hemel Hempstead snow dome.

Twelve children from each school competed in a huge field of 160 preparatory school racers from as far afield as Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Hampshire – and The Hall school won the boys’ team title while South Hampstead took second place in the girls’ team event.

The Hall’s Max Fairfull took first place with the fastest time of the day in the boys’ Under-14 competition and Zach Tydeman and Maddy Fairfull both came fifth in the Under-10 boys’ and girls’ contests respectively.

Those achievements were made possible by the huge support shown by The Hall headmaster Chris Godwin and South Hampstead High School headmistress Gabrielle Solti towards the skiing programmes, and the hard work put in by the children at the Hemel ski race club on Monday evenings.
