Herts/Middlesex One: Bank of England 67 UCS Old Boys 5

UCS Old Boys ended their Herts/Middlesex One campaign with a 67-5 defeat at Bank of England.

Despite a brave effort in the opening half, Old Boys found themselves 24-0 down at the break after Bank scored three tries and a penalty.

The hosts continued to perform well in the opening minutes of the second half, scoring a further three tries to move 41-0 clear.

UCS skipper Tom Arnold then left the field after suffering a nasty knock to the head, a further blow for the visitors.

Bank made the most and continued to add to their lead as they moved into a 55-0 advantage.

There was at least a try for Old Boys to cheer, with Charlie Esdon crossing for the sole try for the visitors, before two further Bank tries rounded out the scoring.

It was a disappointing end to the campaign for UCS, who finish the season in 10th place in the table.

Old Boys will hope they can finish next year further up the standings.
