Sarries captain clocked up landmark total in win over Wasps on Sunday
Saracens centre Brad Barritt spoke of his pride at clocking up 200 appearances for the north Londoners in their 38-19 win at home to Wasps in the Aviva Premiership on Sunday.
After moving to Sarries in 2008, the 31-year-old has become an integral part of the team for the Men in Black
During his time in north London, Barritt has won everything the club game has to offer and has been a vital cog in Saracens’ success in recent seasons.
And the South African-born back says he was thrilled to be able to bring up the landmark in a home fixture for Mark McCall’s men.
“It was a really special moment to have my family run out with me at a place that feels like home,” he told the club website.
“To do it among these players, the whole organisation, the coaches, people who are very close to me, the whole of Allianz Park, guys who have supported this team forever, it’s an immensely proud moment.”
Barritt was able to mark the occasion in style as Saracens romped to a bonus-point win, with hooker Jamie George scoring a hat-trick of tries.
Victory lifted Sarries to the top of the Premiership, but the centre knows there are still things to work on ahead of the start of the European Champions Cup this weekend.
Barritt added: “For 65 minutes, we were very impressive and played some great stuff. It’s obviously disappointing how the game ended and that’s something we’ll review over the week and look to rectify ahead of going to Northampton Saints next week.”
