Allianz Park outfit beat Tigers in last meeting on Christmas Eve
Saracens chase a sixth straight win in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday when they entertain Leicester Tigers on Saturday.
The north Londoners fine run of form in the division started when they beat Tigers at Welford Road on Christmas Eve last year.
Since then, the Allianz Park outfit have conquered all before them in the league, with last weekend’s 13-3 win at Sale Sharks taking them to the top of the table.
Sarries’ current run of form in the Premiership followed a sticky patch earlier in the campaign, and skipper Brad Barritt is delighted with the squad’s response.
“It’s always about how strong your culture is and as a group that’s something we pride ourselves on,” the England international told the club website following the win away to Sale.
“In every team and season, there are going to be ups and downs, but it’s how you react to it when you’re down.
“That’s the best thing about this team, that we stuck together, fought through the hard bits and now we’re reaping the rewards.
Against Sale, Saracens became just the third visiting team to triumph at the AJ Bell Stadium in the league this term.
A Liam Williams try and eight points from the boot of scrum half Ben Spencer proved enough for Mark McCall’s men to triumph.
And Barritt revealed the victory in the north west ensured morale in the Sarries camp was high.
“I said to the team that if you could bottle a feeling from a rugby perspective, what we felt after the Sale game is as good as it gets,” added the 31-year-old.
“Everything we spoke about in the week, we backed up on the pitch against Sale.
“The fight when things didn’t go our way and the way the boys rallied together when things were tough, I was hugely proud to be a part of it.”
Without a number of their key players through international duty, Saracens were made to work hard for their win, but Barritt was delighted with how the north Lononders coped, especially in defence
“The defence was unbelievable, especially the forwards and their work off the deck.
“We pride ourselves in how we beat teams off the deck and the way we got set, the way we connected in defence was unrelenting and a testament to our character.”
