Bostik Premier: Kingstonian 0 Haringey Borough 4

Haringey Borough moved up to seventh in the Bostik Premier following a terrific 4-0 win away to high-flying Kingstonian on Saturday.

Confidence was high for Tom Loizou’s team after they had won their previous four matches, but they expected a stern test against a side in the play-off positions.

It was Borough who made the breakthrough after 18 minutes when Joel Nouble put them ahead and they never looked back.

While it remained 1-0 at half time, the Coles Park club kicked on after the restart and soon put the bed to bed.

Femi Akinwande extended the visitors’ advantage in the 48th minute and Haringey got even more breathing space eight minutes later.

The in-form Coby Rowe powered home a header at the back post to make it five goals in his last five games.

Loizou’s men still had more left in the tank and in the 79th minute they made it 4-0 as Chinedu McKenzie grabbed a goal.

Borough’s excellent four-goal win has seen them jump up to seventh in the table with 27 points from 16 games, which sees them only a point off the top-five.

Next up for the Coles Park club is another big cup game as National League leaders Leyton Orient visit White Hart Lane in the second round of the London Senior Cup.

The 7.45pm kick-off will be in aid of the Dave Bell Foundation, which raises money to help support Kenyan children.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions while under-16s can get in for free at Coles Park.

O’s are set to bring a fairly strong team, assistant Ross Embleton said: “When you see the game is advertised as a Leyton Orient XI it will be an XI because you will have six or seven who you would class as professionals and the rest will be youth-teamers.”
