HUNDREDS of people flocked to Copthall on Sunday to celebrate the former Hendon captain John Ryan's many achievements, for north London rugby and Hendon RFC in particular.
Ryan, who has motor neurone disease, captained Hendon for seven seasons and has fulfilled a number of coaching roles. He remains an active member of the club, working as a coaching consultant and fund-raising secretary.
One of the many highlights of the day was the match between the John Ryan XV and North London Presidents XV.
In a lively encounter, President's came out on top, winning 17-5. The John Ryan Cup was presented to Phil Todd by John who thanked all his friends, and players from both teams, for their support.
