STRUGGLING Haringey Greyhounds are facing up to a crucial three weeks of their season after their depleted squad was forced to cancel both their matches last weekend

The Hounds had to call off their fixtures with Bracknell Hornets on Saturday and Invicta Dynamos on Sunday, with injuries and work commitments reducing their team to the bare bones.

"We didn't want our opponents to waste their time by travelling all that way, so we had no option but to call the games off," said Greyhounds owner Jan Bestic. "Circumstances beyond our control are making things difficult at the moment."

Both results were officially recorded as 5-0 defeats for the Hounds, leaving the Alexandra Park outfit still hovering above the drop zone on goal difference, and with two huge games on the horizon.

Next up is Sunday's scheduled trip to Milton Keynes, who sit one place below Haringey in ninth, before basement side Peterborough come to north London on December 13.
