HENDON were outclassed in Saturday's FA Cup clash against AFC Telford at Vale Farm.
"It's not often I've felt we were second best but I thought Telford were faster in deed and thought and more committed than us," said Hendon boss Gary McCann. "By that I mean committed to tackles and I can't criticise my players' commitment and effort."
Telford went ahead in the 12th minute when Terry Ferns opened the scoring with a header just inside the in the upright.
Yet Hendon raised their game and five minutes later could have scored when a corner from Charlie Mapes was headed over the bar by Rakathar Hudson. Minutes later Mapes well-struck free kick was saved by the keeper.
But Telford rallied and doubled their lead when Lee Moore scored just before the break for a 2-0 half-time lead. Telford controlled the match in the second half but Hendon gained some consolation when Brian Haule netted in the third minute of injury time.
Hendon visit Margate in the FA Trophy on Saturday.
Hendon squad: Lawrencin, Burgess, Vargas, Leach, Kirby, Bent, Busby, Hudson, Haule, Hunt, Charlie Mapes, Diedhiou, Mansaray, Guentchev, Wilmot, Kalipha, Garner, Wilson
