Three Haringey Police boxers have made it through to the finals of the London Development Championships, which are taking place this Sunday.

Numan Hussein, 23, beat Vasile Nedelcmu from IQ Boxing Club on a technical knock-out in the second round of his qualifying fight, while Steven Makoko, 22, overcame another IQ fighter, Felman Asifa, on points in his 60kg bout. Martin Ward, 15, got a walkover in his 80kg contest.

Meanwhile, double Olympic champion Nicola Adams – who is still registered with Haringey – visited the club’s gym on Tottenham High Road last week to film a feature video as part of an Aviva campaign.
