Haringey Huskies have announced two more summer signings ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The Alexandra Palace-based outfit welcome a familiar face in defenceman Perry Whitlock and also bring in a completely new face in goalie Jussi Lynch-Grut.

Whitlock, who iced for the former Haringey Racers, will return to North London to play in the new-look after taking some time out from the game.

The former Romford junior, first iced for the Romford Spitfires in 2006, where he managed one goal and five assists in 19 games.

The stay-at-home defenceman stayed at his home club right up until the 2010/11 season when he made the switch to Essex rivals Chelmsford Warriors.

Whitlock stayed in Chelmsford until the 2013/14 season when he joined the former Haringey Racers.

A club statement said: “Perry is a utility player that you can put in to any situation, and he brings the tenacity that he learned from his job in the London Fire Brigade.”

The defenceman has iced 186 senior games notching 15 goals and 46 assists for 61 points in his career.

Joining Whitlock on the roster is Jussi Lynch-Grut, who joins the club, after spending last season playing overseas in Canada.

Lynch-Grut split his time last term between the Komoka Dragons and the Tottenham Steam.

The former Streatham junior has also previously spent time with league rivals Invicta Mustangs.

The 20-year-old said: “I am excited to be part of the new face of hockey at Ally Pally, I always looked forward to playing at The Palace because it always had a great atmosphere, even if I wasn’t on the team the crowd was cheering for.

“Hopefully I can play an important role on and off the ice for the Huskies and would like to thank Daniel for asking me to be part of the new team for next season.”

Coach Daniel Sampson added: “Both of these guys bring talent and depth to our roster, they love the game and bring passion and a desire to win every night.

“I am very excited to have been able to sign them.”
