Hampstead & Westminster’s women moved six points clear at the top of the Conference East table with an emphatic 6-0 win over fellow Londoners Southhwark at Paddington Rec.
The home side had most of the possession from the start, but failed to convert any chances.
They kept the pressure on Southgate’s defence, though, and on 20 minutes Annabel Driver scored the opener, deflecting a great penalty corner.
Two minutes later Hayley Turner finished off another corner move to make it 2-0 at the break.
And Hampstead found more flow to their game in the second half to add four more to their tally and boost their goal difference.

Jasmine Clark scored the first open-play goal of the game just four minutes after the break, with Lou Radford and an Amy Askew penalty corner rebound in quick succession making it 5-0.
Jessica Orrett converted another penalty corner two minutes from time to seal victory as the leaders extended their advantage, with Sevenoaks dropping points at Cambridge.

Hampstead travel to Barnes this weekend, with only five games left this season.
The men entertained Reading on Sunday, looking to make up ground on the top four in the Premier Division.
Reading’s recent run of form had served them well, while the home side were attempting to resurrect their season after some below-par performances.
It was all Reading in the first half as a number of chances were created due to some swift movement from their strikers.
Hampstead goalie Jamie Legg produced an outstanding performance in the face of all the Reading pressure, only conceding one goal to a Richard Mantell penalty stroke after 25 minutes.
The second half proved to be a different story as Hampstead controlled the ball well and began creating opportunities.
Rupert Shipperly equalised on 50 minutes, diving in front of his defender to latch on to a cross, and with just four minutes left Will Byas and Chris Cargo linked up nicely, before a stunning strike from Irish international Cargo secured a much-needed 2-1 win.
Hampstead still have work to do to secure a top-four position, but they will head to Holcombe on Sunday (2pm) in confident mood as they maintain their push for the play-offs.
