Hampstead & Westminster conceded three goals in four second-half minutes as they suffered a 6-3 home defeat against unbeaten East Grinstead in the men’s Premier Division on Sunday.
The sides traded scores at the Paddington Recreation Ground, with Mark Gleghorne and Tony Wilson scoring for the visitors and Matt Botha and Oli Didham replying for the hosts to leave the scores level at 2-2 the break.
But Grinstead stormed away with three quickfire unanswered goals after the interval and, although Will Naylor hit back to make it 5-3, Gleghorne had the final word in the 67th minute.
H&W face Reading twice this weekend – away in the league on Saturday and then at home in the third round of the NOW:Pensions Men’s Cup on Sunday.
