Hampstead missed the chance to secure their third win in a row as they lost an eight-point lead in the final 20 minutes on Saturday, drawing 18-18 at home against Harpenden in London North-West Division Two.
Visiting Harpenden opened the scoring with a converted try but Dan Dimoline kicked a penalty and then went over the whitewash before converting himself to put the hosts 10-7 up.
And, although Harpenden equalised with a penalty before half-time, Dimoline scored another try before the visitors were reduced to 13 men – and he then kicked a penalty to establish an 18-10 lead.
But, despite having two men in the sin-bin, Harpenden hit back with a try of their own and levelled with a 75th-minute penalty kick.
