Danielle Grant and Souka Trouiller both crossed the line twice as Hampstead Ladies came from behind to secure their second successive league win in Women’s Championship South East Division Two, overcoming Southwold Swallows 29-19.

Grant opened the scoring out wide – but Southwold hit back and, although Trouiller and Laura Shrum made try-saving tackles, the hosts increased their lead to 12-5.

However, a looping pass from Deborah Crossan freed Grant, who dotted down – and when Lizzie Wallace won a turnover, Ruth Burns sent Trouiller away for a try which was converted by Kathryn Davey, putting the visitors 17-12 up at the break.

Rosie Whitter extended the lead and Hampstead then turned a precarious position into another try, holding their opponents up over the try-line, winning a turnover and freeing Trouiller, who ran the length of the field.

Francisca Hall converted and, although Southwold hit back with another score of their own, it was too late for a serious comeback.
