Hampstead Ladies’ second team are just two points off the top in Women’s Championship South East East Division Two after triumphing 10-5 away against St Francis.
Hampstead had the majority of the territory and possession in a scoreless first half, but they broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second period.
Franziska Thielsch managed to run the ball over the line, but it was Tracy Muston who actually touched the ball down and claimed the try.
Scrum-half Mel Wright then took advantage of a gap around the ruck to score a second try. And, although St Francis crossed the line at the other end, they could not get back on level terms.
Delphine Tsiranana was named the back of the match while Stephanie Thompson was given the forward of the match gong for her strong ball carrying and defensive tackles.
