Hampstead’s The Hall School got the better of Highgate in their ISFA U13 Cup derby on Monday to book a place in the last 16.
Guy Silver volleyed into the roof of the net from Chrisian Ho-Asjoe’s cross to open the scoring in the first half.
And Noah Basden poked in a second after a goalmouth scramble, before Silver played a pinpoint pass to Jamie Marks who beat three players in the box and slotted home the goal of the game.
Highgate hit back from a free-kick with 10 minutes left to set up a nervy finish, but right-back Oliver Wright went on a rampaging run and crossed for substitute Paddy Challis to stroke in at the near post to the delight of a 200-strong crowd.
Lucas Payne and Wright also hit the crossbar, while Silver missed a penalty, and director of sport Chris MacFarlane said: “Both teams played really well and we’re glad we can look forward to the next round. Fingers crossed it’s a home draw.”
