GIRLS from both Dartford and Gravesham boroughs battled to decide whose school would earn the right to take part in the Kent School Games basketball finals, writes Janet Byard.
Schools from Dartford Girls Grammar, St Johns, Meopham, Swanley Technology College, Gravesend Girls Grammar and Wilmington Enterprise College took part in the tournament held at the White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley. There were two age groups - U13 and U15 - and the final placings were as follows: U13: first, Gravesend Grammar; second, Meopham; third, Swanley Technology College. U15: first, Gravesend Grammar; second, Dartford Grammar; third, Meopham.
Gravesend Grammar School for Girls subsequently qualified in both age groups for the Kent School Games finals in July.
