Jamie O'Hara and Tom Huddlestone played key roles for England Under-21s in their European Championship play-off with Wales over two legs writes Patrick Mooney.

Stuart Pearce's side ran out 3-2 winners in the first leg with goals coming from David Wheather, Adam Johnson and Gabriel Agbonlahor at Ninian Park on Saturday.

Then, on Tuesday, England booked their place in the finaals with victory in the second leg at Villa Park.

O'Hara gave Spurs boss Juande Ramos a timely reminder of his ability with an outstanding performance at left-back in the first match.

It was 0'Hara's his pin-point corner picked out Middlesbrough's Wheater to cancel out Simon Church's opener on 19 minutes.

With the scores locked at 2-2 going into the second half, a bit of magic from Huddlestone on the right-hand touchline on 62 minutes won possession for England and resulted in Agbonlahor's winner.

Fraizer Campbell also got on for the last 15 minutes ay Ninaina Park.
