Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm remain out injured, so Paulo Gazzaniga should deputise again at Stadium MK

Tottenham Hotspur will continue to be without Hugo Lloris when they host Watford in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday evening.

The World Cup winner has been sidelined since August 27 when he picked up a thigh injury during the 3-0 win at Manchester United.

Spurs initially suffered a wobble without their captain and lost at Watford, at home to Liverpool and away to Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Michel Vorm deputised in the aforementioned matches, but he suffered a knee injury last week and so Paulo Gazzaniga deputised at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday and impressed in the 2-1 win which saw Tottenham get back on track.

After success in the Premier League, Mauricio Pochettino will hope his team can back it up with a victory over Watford tomorrow.

Lloris, as mentioned, will be absent again, but he has now started to work again on the training pitch and could return soon.

Vorm’s knee injury is also progressing well with the swelling coming down, but he is still unavailable.

It means Gazzaniga should continue and start for Spurs at Stadium MK – the second home venue the club have used this season.

Because Wembley Stadium is unavailable and the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium continues to be built, the Lilywhites had to play the cup clash at MK Dons’ home.

Kyle Walker-Peters will be the cover star for the matchday programme and he could get a start against the Hornets.

Elsewhere, Dele Alli may play after he recently returned from a hamstring injury and the match at Stadium MK will be poignant for him given he progressed through the academy at MK Dons.

Davinson Sanchez could also be involved along with Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko and Victor Wanyama.
