TOTTENHAM today agreed a deal to sign Wigan's highly- rated Wilson Palacios for around £14million, writes PAT MOONEY.

The midfielder passed a medical after agreeing terms and the transfer will be completed once the Honduras international receives a work permit.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy agreed a price over the weekend for the 24-year-old before personal terms were successfully negotiated.

Manchester City also showed an interest in Palacious but Spurs have now finalised the deal.

Palacios is now in line to make his Tottenham debut against Stoke City on Tuesday at the Lane. But he is cup-tied so cannot feature in tonight's Carling Cup semi-final against Burnley or the FA Cup fourth round clash with Manchester at Old Trafford on Saturday.
