LEDLEY King scored his first goal for three years to set Tottenham on their way to all three points in Monday's London derby at West Ham, writes Patrick Mooney.
And substitute Jamie O'Hara added a stunning second in the final minute as Spurs replaced the Hammers in 15th spot in the Premier League table.
This was one of the Lilywhites' best displays of the season against a poor West Ham outfit, who are heading for troubled times. The first half produced little constructive football with both teams surrendering possession cheaply.
Spurs, who recalled Luka Modric and Jermaine Jenas in a reshuffled midfield, should have scored in the opening minute but the unmarked Modric fired straight at Hammers' keeper Robert Green. David Bentley was then denied by Green before Roman Pavlychenko hit a post from Aaron Lennon's cross.
Spurs brought on Darren Bent for Pavlychenko shortly after the restart and the change gave the visitors more impetus. And it was not long before Spurs broke the deadlock, King heading home Lennon's cross. The Hammers stirred themselves in the closing minutes but Heurelho Gomes produced two top saves to deny David di Michele and Lucas Neill. Spurs broke straight away and O'Hara's unstoppable shot sealed a sweet win.
