spurs staged another remarkable comeback to shock Liverpool on Saturday evening. Less than 72 hours after stunning Arsenal in the 4-4 thriller at The Emirates, it was turn of the leaders to experience the Harry Houdini effect. Yet, this was a game Spurs could and should have lost by several goals.

But under Redknapp there is a new-found belief and Roman Pavlyuchenko's stoppage time winner lifted Spurs temporarily, off the bottom.

All this seemed highly unlikely when Dirk Kuyt blasted the Merseysiders ahead inside three minutes. But for all of Liverpool's possession and the continued shaky form of keeper Heurelho Gomes the visitors failed to add to their lead.

Although Redknapp changed to 4-4-2 in the second half - Pavlyuchenko joining Darren Bent up front - Liverpool stayed in control and Steven Gerrard twice hit the woodwork.

The game changed when Jamie Carragher headed a Spurs corner into his own net. The goal lifted Spurs and their fans. Soon after Pavlyuchenko blazed a golden chance over the bar after Pepe Reina spilled the ball.

But the Russian redeemed himself when he turned Bent's cut-back into the net after Reina had beaten out David Bentley's stinging drive.

SPURS PLAYER OF THE GAME: Vedran Corluka. Showed his versatility by starring in both full back spots.

Team: Gomes 4, Corluka 8, King 7 Woodgate 8, Assou-Ekotto 6 (Hutton 6 46), O'Hara 6 (Pavlyuchenko 7, 46), Zokora 7, Huddlestone 7, Bentley 7, Modric 7 (Lennon 6 75), 7 Bent 8). Not used: Cesar, Bale, Gunter, Campbell.
