The Spaniard praised the effort of the team following two wins from two
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies head coach Juan Amoros has challenged the squad to keep up their good form in 2019.
Karen Hills’ team top the FA Women’s Championship table ahead of Sunday’s fixture at Millwall Lionesses.
Spurs have won both games this year, including a 3-0 win at home to Lewes Women on January 13 last time out, and it has delighted the staff.
Amoros said: “We’ve started the year with six points and that’s what we wanted.
“We’re Tottenham Hotspur, we need to make sure we are there, doing our best to win every single game.
“I’m very pleased with how the girls started the Lewes game and the second half because that’s something we have been working on – the reactions after we score and to the other key moments.
“Lewes changed their manager and tried to play in a different style, but I think we adapted fantastically well, especially with the weather conditions.
“We scored three and there could have been a few more goals, but for us it’s about the three points which we were looking for.”
Goals from Jessica Naz, Rianne Dean and Jenna Schillaci moved Spurs back to the top of the table two weeks ago, but they have played a game more than a key rival.
Manchester United Women and Charlton Athletic Women saw their recent encounter postponed and it means the Red Devils have only played 11 times.
Both Tottenham and third-placed Addicks have played 12 games, but positivity is high at Cheshunt FC’s Theobalds Lane ahead of Sunday’s game.
Captain Schillaci scored in her last appearance against Lewes and reflected on that effort as well as the mood in the Lilywhites camp.
She added: “A goal’s a goal and I’m really delighted as we’ve been working on our set pieces so I’m really happy to have scored one.
“We treat every game as a final now – there’s everything to play for. We’ve got a great squad of players and a great new signing now in Emma (Beckett) who I thought was outstanding when she came on the pitch.”
