Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son is hopeful the three-week break between now and the Champions League final will allow him to produce his best form in Madrid.

He had to sit out Sunday's final-day clash with Everton in the Premier League after receiving a red card at AFC Bournemouth earlier in the month, but he still cleaned up in the club awards.

Son claimed trophies for One Hotspur Player of the Season, One Hotspur Junior Player of the Season, Official Supporters' Clubs' Player of the Season and the club's Goal of the Season for his strike in a 3-1 home win over Chelsea in November.

After a demanding 12 months where he has played in a number of tournaments across the globe, the 26-year-old is excited to face Liverpool next month.

"I think everyone needs this bit of time to rest. We are trying to get as fit as possible for the one game we have left," Son said.

"We have to make sure we give everything in this game, so we have to bring our best and even more than 100 per cent on this day."

He continued: "I am a really, really positive guy and I try to be a positive guy. It is one of the best feelings to be playing in the Champions League final, so I just want to make sure that I am ready for every single ball and every single second.

"It is in three weeks, so everything is in our hands and I want to make sure and hope that I am in fire mode!"

Son could only watch from the sidelines while his team-mates battled to a 2-2 draw at home to Everton.

Eric Dier put Tottenham ahead in the third minute, but the Toffees turned the game on its head with second-half goals from Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun.

Thankfully for Spurs, Christian Eriksen produced a peach of a free kick with quarter of an hour left to earn a share of the spoils.

Paul Coyte then welcomed Son onto the pitch after the full time whistle to present him his trophies for a great season with the Lilywhites.

He scored 20 goals in 47 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, including a number of vital ones in the Champions League, and will hope there is more to come for the final against Liverpool on June 1.

Son added: "It feels amazing and I am grateful for everything. For me, every single player deserves these awards because they have done such a great job.

"It was a hard season in the Premier League, but our season is not done. I'm really, really grateful and happy, but I think every single player deserves these awards."
