Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino admits Jan Vertonghen was in some pain after coming off with an injury against Crystal Palace.

The defender was involved in a clash with Eagles striker Connor Wickham and shortly went off clutching his head and knee.

Pochettino admits he will test the defender tomorrow but it doesn’t look as if the Belgian was concussed.

“Jan, we will assess tomorrow,” Pochettino said.

“It looks painful but we will asses it tomorrow and see how he is.

“I don’t want to make any judgement now.

“We will wait to look at the incident too. He is feeling not so good, his knee also. He didn’t speak to me about the incident yet.”

Dele Alli scored a stunner as Spurs came from behind to win 3-1 at Selhurst Park.

Harry Kane and Nacer Chadli also got on the scoresheet but Alli will take the headlines after his volley which is bound to be involved in a goal of the season campaign.

“It was fantastic,” Pochettino added. “The most fantastic effort from him.

“Dele shows in every game his quality, he is fantastic. His potential is huge.

“Like Harry Kane, they are very young, need to keep working hard.

“It was a difficult game, we have played a lot of football, with Leicester in midweek. I am very pleased for the players.”
