Sarries and London Irish will host their first matches of new term at HQ

Saracens will kick of their Aviva Premiership season at Twickenham after being confirmed as one of the two capital team to take part in this year’s ‘London Dobule Header’.

The event at Rugby HQ has become a tradition of the opening weekend of the season, with fans of London clubs descending on the national stadium.

Since the first London Double Header in 2004, Sarries have been ever presents and are this year joined by recently-promoted London Irish.

Both teams will discover their opponents for the event, due to take place on September 2, when the fixtures are released on July 7.

Tickets are currently available to Saracens and London Irish season tickets, before going on general sale on June 27.

One team who Sarries won’t be facing on the opening day is Newcastle Falcons, with their away game already confirmed for September 16.

Rather than take place at the Falcons’ Kingston Park home, the round three match will instead be held at the Talen Energy Stadium in American city of Chester, Pennsylvania.
