Hendon will look to pile the pressure on the top three in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South when they travel to Gosport Borough this weekend.

The Greens will head to Privett Park on Saturday determined to make the most of their game in hand with two of the top three – Weymouth and Salisbury – both in FA Trophy action this weekend.

Jimmy Gray’s side currently sit fourth in the table after back-to-back draws this week and they will now look to get back to winning ways as they bid to chase down Weymouth, Taunton Town and Salisbury.

They salvaged a 2-2 draw against Beaconsfield Town, despite originally taking the lead, with a 88th-minute equaliser from Ricardo German on Tuesday.

The Greens drew first blood at Silver Jubilee Park when German rounded the keeper to score, but on the half hour mark Jordan Ajanlekoko equalised.

And the visitors went into the half-time break ahead after Brendan Matthew scored shortly before the interval.

Gray’s side fought hard to get back in the game in the second half and were eventually rewarded for their efforts in the closing stages when a fine move was finished off by German for his second goal of the evening.

That took his tally for the season to 18 and earned his side a point.

Hendon had made their longest-ever trip for a league fixture a few days earlier oin Saturday, as they visited Devon club Tiverton Town.

And they returned to London with a point following a goalless stalemate, despite a handful of chances from both sides during the match.

Hendon are also set to travel away to mid-table side Kings Langley on Tuesday evening.

They will head to the Sadiku Stadium in Hertfordshire looking to build on what they are hoping is a good result on Saturday.

Hendon’s under-23s were due to be in Middlesex Premier Cup action last night (Wednesday) against Deportivo Galacia at Silver Jubilee Park and will have been hoping to progress into the next round.
