The north Londoners are looking to finalise their squad ahead of August 11, but their manager has a slight headache

Tom Loizou has a nice problem going into the new Bostik Premier season – everyone wants to join Haringey Borough!

The Coles Park club are preparing for their first match at level three of the non-league pyramid on August 11.

Borough have lost some key men since winning the Bostik North play-offs last May, but have plenty of good options to pick from.

Loizou said: “Promotion has definitely sunk in and it is all about preparing for this season now.

“You almost forget about promotion the week after, but it seems like the whole world wants to join us player-wise, so we’ll have to wait and see what our squad looks like.”

Among the people who have moved on from Coles Park are Ralston Gabriel, Anthony McDonald and Andre McCollin.

Gabriel has moved up a level to sign for National League South outfit St Albans City while McCollin will play in the same division as Haringey with Harlow Town.

Meanwhile, McDonald said: “It’s been a pleasure, but all good things must come to an end.

“I wish nothing but great things for Haringey Borough Football Club and all the best for this season lads.”

Although the aforementioned three have bid farewell to Coles Park, Loizou has kept most other members of his squad and is keen to allow them the opportunity to play in the Bostik Premier.

He added: “The thing is I have to be a little bit loyal to the boys I have already got. I remember when I first took over at the club and whenever Haringey Borough was mentioned it was laughed at.

“All of a sudden now every player in north London wants to join us, so I have to be careful about who I bring in.

“We have released a few players and got a couple of new ones as well and that is it at the moment.”

Borough have two more pre-season matches to play before the new campaign gets underway on August 11.

Barton Rovers will visit Coles Park on Saturday before Brentwood Town make the trip there on Monday.
