After visiting Margate this weekend, Harlow Town will travel to Coles Park on Monday

Confidence is high at Haringey Borough ahead of a tricky spell where they will play twice in the Bostik Premier over the next week.

Tom Loizou’s men have claimed four consecutive victories since a 2-1 loss at home to Worthing on September 1.

It has seen them progress into the third qualifying round of the FA Cup and move up to 13th in the division with eight points from only six games.

All is well at Coles Park, but the squad will be tested over the next few days when they play a couple of potentially tricky encounters.

This weekend Haringey will travel to Hartsdown Park to take on Margate, who are seventh in the standings, which is the same position they finished the 2017/18 campaign in.

Saturday will provide Loizou’s team with a difficult test and then on Monday (October 1) they will be back at Coles Park for the visit of Harlow Town.

The Hawks have endured a bad start to the new season and are second bottom with four points heading into the weekend.

Borough do at least approach this busy period with spirits at an all-time high after a mixture of cup and league success recently.

Last weekend, the White Hart Lane club saw off Erith Town 2-0 to pocket £9.000 in prize money and move two wins away from the first round proper.

The Dockers, who currently play in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division, made it tough for the hosts.

Haringey didn’t break down the Bexley-based club until the 37th minute when they were awarded a penalty and Joel Nouble fired home confidently.

It was the fifth spot-kick they had won during their last three games, but no complacency was shown by the summer signing.

And then three minutes after the half time break, it was 2-0 as Chinedu McKenzie continued his excellent form with another goal.

Borough remain focused for the rest of the encounter to keep a clean sheet and set up a third qualifying round tie at home to Bostik North side AFC Sudbury.

A statement on the official club website confirmed: “The FA Cup game will be played on October 6 and the league home game with Tonbridge Angels scheduled for that day has now been rearranged for November 12.”
