Haringey Borough manager Tom Loizou wants his side to continue staying under the radar as they push up the Bostik Premier Division table.

Borough will welcome Merstham to Coles Park this evening (7.45pm) as they look to make it five consecutive wins since their FA Cup heartache against AFC Wimbledon.

But he does feel that his side need to start performing against the side’s lower down the table like The Moatsiders.

“I’m a manager who always believes stay under the radar as much as you can, like we did last season and the season before, we made the play-offs the season before and failed last season we done the job.

“We stayed below the radar, got into the play-offs with about five games to go and we got promoted.”

Loizou added: “That’s my worry, Merstham because we beat all the top sides but we’ve got a bad record against all the teams down the bottom.

“We’ve got to get the players heads right, we can’t be over confident, but we want some arrogance and confidence at the same time.”

The boss also feels the fans have played a huge part in their recent success and helped them get over the line during their hectic fixture list.

“The fans have been great, unbelievable they’re the ones who keep pushing us over the line at the moment.

“There are a lot of tired legs out there because we’re two games behind.”

Borough have moved to bring in striker Ricky Sappleton after having to take Michael Ademiluyi off in the 39th minute due to injury in their 3-1 win against AFC Hornchurch on Saturday.

“Little Michael Ademiluyi has picked up an injury but Ricky Sappleton is signing, so we’re getting another forward in, as we have to be one step ahead of this game.”
