Gary McCann’s team fell to a 1-0 reverse at Enfield Town after thrashing Tooting & Mitcham United at the weekend

Hendon suffered a 1-0 defeat at Enfield Town on Tuesday night, but it was not enough to see Gary McCann’s team drop down from second in the Bostik Premier table.

The Greens strong finish to September means they are well placed going into this month where they take on leaders Billericay Town this weekend.

It will be a big challenge for McCann and his players, but they’ll relish the chance to try and take over at the top.

A 4-0 home win on Saturday over Tooting & Mitcham United maintained Hendon’s unbeaten start to the season at the Silver Jubilee Park.

The Greens had to wait until the 47th minute to take the lead, but once Arthur Lee opened the scoring they never looked back.

Matt Ball made it 2-0 five minutes later before Zak Joseph and Josh Walker rounded off the scoring to cap a great day for Hendon.
