Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be out for a few weeks with a knee injury.
The winger was substituted shortly after half time when Arsenal played Barcelona in midweek.
He collided with Javier Mascherano and limped through much of the first half but he was taken off and replaced by Theo Walcott soon after the break.
Arsenal take on Manchester United on Sunday afternoon as the Red Devils struggle with a lengthy injury list of their own.
Wenger says that while defender Gabriel looks set to return, Oxlade-Chamberlain is certainly out of action for a few weeks.
“Gabriel has a test today and tomorrow and then we will see if he is available for the game,” Wenger said.
“We lost Oxlade-Chamberlain on Tuesday night and his injury is quite serious and keeps him out for a few weeks.
“He is seeing a specialist, he has injured his knee. Hopefully we will have good news but he is out for a few weeks.”
