Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he is in no rush to sign a goalkeeper this summer as he has ‘the best in the league’ in David Ospina.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea back-up stopper Petr Cech but Wenger is yet to decide on a bid for the experienced stopper as he tried to trust his current crop.
Wojciech Szczęsny started and looked comfortable in the FA Cup final against Aston Villa on Saturday although Ospina is the regular number one under Wenger.
The Frenchman reckons Ospina is one of the best around and the stats prove that, however he refuses to rule out making a move for Cech.
“Our goalkeeper was very good today,” Wenger said.
“It was a good decision to go with it, if it didn’t work I would have been criticised.
“If you look at the stats, Ospina is the best goalkeeper in the league. You might not share that opinion, but in the mathematics he is.
“I don’t know what is happening (with Petr Cech) we have just won the cup and so I can’t come out and say anything straight after.
“You will see what we will do by the end of the transfer window.”
