Swiss international defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has joined Arsenal from Juventus.
The seven time Serie A title winner signed as a free agent from the Italian giants after making more than 250 appearances for Juve.
Lichtsteiner, 34, will be given the No12 shirt to wear by new boss Unai Emery as the Swiss captain becomes the first signing at the club in the post-Wenger era.
Head coach Unai Emery said: “Stephan brings huge experience and leadership to our squad. He’s a player with great quality with a very positive and determined attitude.
“Stephan will improve us on and off the pitch.”
The experienced right-sided defender is the fourth most capped player in Switzerland history with 99 appearances.
He started his senior career in 2001 with Swiss club Grasshopper Zurich, where he won the league title in 2003 before moving to France to play for Lille for three seasons.
He signed for Lazio in 2008, where he won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana before moving to Juventus in 2011.
