Arsenal concede the title after losing 3-2 at home to Leeds, but Arsene Wenger insists his side are still the best in the country.

Manchester United take the championship after earning 19 points out of 21. The Gunners limp into second place after winning just nine points in the same period ,but a defiant Wenger says: "There was a very small difference between the two teams. if you look at the FA Cup and the championship, we are certainly the best.

"But in the championship United found their form at the right moment."

Meanwhile, Arsenal scrap plans to open the new stadium at Ashburton Grove in time for the start of the 2004/2005 season. The Gunners have spent £9m on the project in the past six months, but have still yet to secure the funding needed for the project, believed to be around £317m.
