THIS WEEK IN 2003:

Thierry Henry hit a hat-trick - which included his first ever header in the Premier League - in a 3-1 won over West Ham at Highbury as the Gunners moved to the top of the table. He now tops the gaolscoring charts with 17 - two ahead of Southampton's James Beattie.

But Henry's heroics were overshadowed by the FA's decision to investigate Dennis Bergjamp after he appeared to elbow Lee Bowyer in the face.

The Dutchman as quick to defend himself: "I didn't intend to touch him and the referee was close enough to see that," he said. "I told Lee that it was just a big accident and there was nothing I could do.
